9|21 - Once you're done watching this video, explain the Main Idea in your virtual notebook. Add a good CCQ as well.Main Idea : slaves were originally low in numbers when tobacco was grown, but as it spread and became more popular, there were more slaves being imported to work on tobacco plantations.CCQ 1 - People today still smoke tobacco and it's still pretty big/popular.CCQ 2 - it's really stupid how people couldn't just do their own work instead of enslaving people to do ALL your work for you. you could at least ask your family or other people to help you instead of having slaves.CCQ 3 - how come cotton didn't become an important crop until the American Independance? I mean slaves were working in cotton plantations and cotton was used for clothes and things so how did it not become important until after? I think that is stupid since many people were already using cotton and there were already cotton plantations out.

Main Idea for Southern Colonial Economy: they made a lot of money growing indigo and cotton and trading/selling it.
I put this picture for the Southern Colonial Economy since they made most of their money off of growing indigo and turning it into a dye.
Main Idea for Nothern Colonial Economies: they made money by growing stuff and fishing.
I put this picture for Nothern Colonial Economy since they made money fishing a lot and they made ships to help them trade more efficiently.

1. Yes, the students did get their facts correct on the Navigational Acts.
2. I would improve their work by talking more about mercantilism and changing what they said about it because they said that wealth was supposed to go to England but it didn't. Mercantilism is just about a country having money equalling a country having power, not about England getting wealthy because of mercantilism.

No, it does not change my opinion on what I just read and no it should not change because even though as digusting as it is, probably being made up, that most likely did happen to these people who were actually on slave ships. It's horrible to think about. Someone could have told him what happens/happened, so he could have shared the stories of others.
That is crazy if he was a slave why did he buy and sell slaves?! Is he stupid? He's so confusing and he seems like he is out of his mind! All I have to say is "what?!?!"
